Tulum beach is a paradise not only for you but also for your dog. Imagine them running down the beach, tongue hanging out, with the wind in their face and water splashing with each stride. Maybe they even go for a swim since the ocean is usually pretty calm. But before you both come to enjoy the sea together, it’s important to take some precautions to ensure that you both have a fun and safe experience. Here are some important tips for bringing your furry friend to the beach:

1. Sun Protection: Dogs can also get sunburned, especially those with light skin or short fur. Consider applying pet-safe sunscreen to sensitive areas like their nose, ears, and belly.

2. Hydration: The heat can quickly dehydrate your dog, so be sure to bring fresh water and a bowl for them to drink. Also, seawater can be harmful if ingested in large amounts, so avoid letting your dog drink directly from the ocean.

3. Shade or Umbrella: Although Tulum has warm and sunny weather, make sure your dog always has access to shade. A cool area to rest in will help prevent heatstroke.

4. Paw Cleaning: After a day of fun in the sand, be sure to clean your dog’s paws to remove salt and sand, which could irritate their skin or pads.

5. Avoid Human Food and Alcohol: It’s true the dogs of Sana Sana have been known to steal a morsel or two off someones plate when they’re not looking, but we certainly don’t approve of it. While your dog may be curious, avoid letting them eat human food or drink beverages that can be harmful to their health, like alcohol.

6. Pick Up After Your Dog: Please please please be considerate and aware of where you’re dog is pooping! Always bring bags to pick up your dog’s waste and keep the beach clean for everyone. Nobody wants to step in poop while on vacation.

Take your dog to enjoy the beach, but be sure to do it responsibly! That way, you’ll both enjoy a day of sun and sea without any worries.
